...our unmet needs.
Humans have basic needs that must be met to be healthy, happy, and productive beings.
Our fundamental, emotional needs center on safety, belonging, and validation.
When these needs aren't met, fear fills in the gaps, and a poor self-image, low self-esteem, and insecurity ensue and go on to express themselves as all sorts of protective behaviors.
This is why my MindBodySpirit Coaching engagement begins with the quote: "Show me all the parts of you that you don't love, so I know where to begin."
When you love the parts of someone they don't know how to love, you model the behavior until they learn how to do it for themselves.
"Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need." Marshall B. Rosenberg
