As part of making my days great, I choose to share a smile with most people I pass.
I don't smile because anything spectacular has happened (well, I woke up today and that's pretty cool), I smile because I get to; because I can :-)
Most people don't smile in return, and that's OK because my smiles don't come with any strings attached.
I think it catches most people off guard; I don't believe they're used to being on the receiving end of an unwarranted, generous grin.
I smile because it says: I see you. You are good to me. We're in this together.
Smiling both affirms and celebrates unity and diversity.
Most people reserve smiling for times when things are going well but I've found smiling is the reason why things go well.
