If you've been a follower of my writing, thank you for you! As you may have noticed, I've taken a break for some time. 2020 has been a turbulent year from the getgo, and I've viewed it as my outer world reorganizing itself to perfectly reflect the healing and transformation that's been occurring within me. I move into each day, reminding myself that I don't need reality to be any different than it is for me to be happy. It's a statement of acceptance and freedom and requires a deep sense of humility and surrender. At 42 (43 this month), this is the first, true year of my life that's been lived with a full heart. It's taken a very long time for me to recover from my upbringing and to rediscover who I am apart from it.
Between Covid-19 and Black Lives Matter, life has been confusing, emotional, and unpredictable. Each morning, as part of my contemplative practice, I'm choosing to stand in solidarity with the suffering of our world. This practice helps me grieve the loss of life (we're all ONE), keeps me grounded and grateful, and connects me to all that is. As we continue navigating the uncertainty of life, I've decided to share some resources to provide everyone a safe, loving, and supportive environment to help balance the cultural demands we're all facing (see below).
We've run The Whole Person Project twice this year. It's helping people outgrow their everyday challenges, from anxiety to depression, guilty and shameful living, anger, procrastination, defensiveness, grudge-holding, self-criticism, emotional eating/drinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the list goes on! Here's what a few members had to say:
"The Whole Person Project, through a beautiful framework, helps us rediscover our YESness (True Self) and shares how it is the answer to the struggles we are facing. It is within every single one of us...we just have to collapse back into it!" Patti Acheson
"Don't ask your mind if it wants to take The Whole Person Project; ask your soul! Mike has done an amazing job of creating a process through sharing openly in a way to help you on the path of self-acceptance and love. Every human and society would be better for taking this course." Daniel Lucas
Last week's posts...
The purpose of reaching a goal is to experience freedom, and the good news is, we can experience freedom before we reach our goals.
It's important to understand that relational strains are not the problem; they're a manifestation of the problem.
If you don't understand the nature and function of protective behaviors, you're not empowered to change them.
If you don't know how to make decisions right now that support your preferred reality, arguably, you'll never make them.
It's not until things go south that we truly become open to the transformation of our circumstances.
Our false self does not know how to give freely without expectation of getting something in return.
