Imagine yourself on the other side of a goal, an achievement, or a hard-won project.
How would you feel?
Go ahead, name the emotions.
Now, feel the emotions.
Are you willing to let yourself feel them?
It's ok; it's just practice, you're merely rehearsing what success feels like; consider it emotional planning and preparing.
If you're like most, you'll find it challenging to be vulnerable to feeling positive emotions ahead of time.
Isn't that horrible?
We've allowed our experiences with rejection to keep us from dreaming, from believing, from trusting, and from using our imagination.
So, by the way, those feelings you think you'll feel on the other side of your goal...you won't feel them when you get there!
I know that sounds pessimistic, but you're going to feel however you're feeling right now because how you do anything is how you do everything.
Don't expect your goals to fulfill you, instead, allow yourself to be filled right NOW before you reach your goal, for no good reason, solely because you're alive and well and free.
Experience the joy now, and your goal will become the byproduct and expression of it.
Goal --> Joy :-(
Joy --> Goal :-)
"When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves." Buddha
