FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
"The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me." Ayn Rand
WHAT IS A MIND-FIRST APPROACH®?
We discovered that while people come to us to enhance their Body, it's their Mind holding them back and their Spirit that suffers. To that end, we work through your Mind (encouragement, empowerment, strategy, planning, celebration, etc.) to uplift your Spirit (beliefs, abundance, self-perception, happiness, wholeheartedness, etc. ) and transform your Body (physique, health, capacity, vitality, physical reality, etc.). Realizing all change happens in the Mind-First, we aim to influence the part of you that changes the quickest so you can manage your expectations and approach.
WHAT IS MINDBODYSPIRIT COACHING?
A coaching experience that centers on encouragement and empowerment, always seeking to bring out the very best of what's inside you and position you as the solution to your situation. It generously appreciates the interconnected nature of how your Mind (how you think), Body (how you move) and Spirit (how you feel) interact and that understanding is reflected in every aspect of this engagement. We believe you're always doing the best you can with what you've got and with effort and belief, you can level up if you want to, we believe lasting change doesn't start with action but awareness and new seeing leads to new ways of being and we believe love is always part of the equation.
WHAT'S THE ROLE OF A MINDBODYSPIRIT COACH?
The role of a MindBodySpirit Coach is to practice empathy in an attempt to understand how you got where you are, create awareness of how you may be limiting yourself from making progress and encourage you to exert effort in your own best interests. It is not our role to hold you accountable, tell you what to do or how to live your life.
"Tell me what do and I forget. Teach me what to do and I may remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin
"A teacher is never a giver of truth; he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student much find for himself." Bruce Lee
WHAT IS THE 12-STEP PROCESS?
A process of healing and transformation developed by Michael Rizk, based on all of his experiences with clients (success and especially failures) since 2000. He considers it a 3-part act...
Act 1: Exposing the unworthy self
Act 2: Revealing the Worthy Self
Act 3: Expressing the Worthy Self
The unworthy self is the part of us that wrestles with insignificance, looks for happiness outside of itself, operates with a scarcity mentality where nothing is ever good enough, can't release it's need for control/certitude and doesn't know how to be at rest. The unworthy self is also referred to as the false self.
The Worthy Self is the part of us that realizes its inherent significance, realizes happiness is within it, operates from space of abundance and can get by with less and less, accepts reality as it is and has no trouble exerting effort to affect its preferred reality and rests in states of peace, love and joy.

HOW IS SUCCESS MEASURED IN YOUR PROGRAM?
Our primary measure of success is this engagement opens your heart space and causes you to deeply love and believe in yourself. Once you love and believe in yourself, the best thing we can do is get out of the way.
From a program standpoint, we have 3 litmus tests for success. We've designed this encounter to be enjoyable, rewarding and sustainable. If you enjoy the ride, you will feel rewarded by it and will therefore sustain it.
From a personal standpoint, we encourage our tribe to focus on two things everyday: to show up and give life their best.
Ultimately, we measure success by impact and your personal transformation rippling out to positively affect the lives of others. As Peter Drucker brilliantly said: "What gets measured, gets managed."
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE FIRST, COMPLEMENTARY SESSION?
Mostly, we want to make sure we're a good fit for one another. Our program is centered on long-term thinking and learning new ways of being in the world. Additionally, we'll asks lots of curious questions to help us understand how we can help you help yourself best. If it seems we're a good fit, we'll share how we may be able to help you, though we can never say for sure as your experience is driven by your individuality. If there's mutual interest in collaborating in your best interests, we'll get you connected to our community, schedule all of your coaching calls and get you on a content schedule. If we're not a good fit, we'll be very upfront so as to not waste either of our time.
WHAT'S A TYPICAL COACHING SESSION LIKE?
All coaching sessions are driven by your specific, individual needs. They typically begin with a status update and addressing any questions you may have relative to the 12-Step Process content you've been engaging. Then, it will involve some combination of inner work (meditation, reframing exercises, problem-solving, reflection, strategic planning, etc.) and outer work (assertive action, redefining experiences, supportive boundaries, expressing values, balancing lifestyle, etc.) that position you as the solution to your own situation.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY STRUCTURE, GUIDANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY?
Structure, guidance and accountability are the foundations of this offering. You will receive structure in the form of a well thought out experience including access to resources such as guided meditations, journal exercises, documents to aid in learning and articles and videos to stimulate your thinking. You will receive guidance in the form of coaching sessions and you will receive a style of accountability you may not be accustomed to. Rather than holding you accountable, we're going to teach and inpsire you how to hold yourself accountable to yourself, which is refreshingly liberating.
YOUR PROMISE IS TO SEE ME BECOME SUCCESSFUL AND MOVE BEYOND YOUR PROGRAM. WILL I BE FIXED IN SIX MONTHS?
Our promise is to operate in your best interests and work towards your independence. Everyone is different and your readiness to move on will be driven by so many factors (trust, value, finances, status, etc.) we cannot predict when you'll be ready. Some people remain stuck inside of a victim mentality and don't feel ready to move one while someone else may be more naturally independent and the thought process we empowered them with was enough to feel ready to spread their wings and fly. The principle we respect more than any other is individuality and we will honor your journey and support whatever decision you feel is best for yourself.
WILL YOU TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT TO DO?
No, telling you what to do creates codependence and reliance upon us for continued success. Instead, we'll empower you how to think for yourself, what we refer to as a thought process. Remember, our goal is to position you for success far beyond your encounter with us and that requires equipping you with the skill-sets and resources necessary to sustain your progress, one of which is developing the capacity to think for yourself. If you're not willing to do this, our program is not for you.
I WANT TO REACH A GOAL QUICKLY, IS THIS THE RIGHT PROGRAM FOR ME?
Not at all, our focus is on helping you uncover and address the root causes driving the protective behaviors that led to your symptoms. Then, inspiring you to create a lifestyle that naturally sports your goals; a process that takes time. John Wooden summed it up nicely: “If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”
